Armor Type | Helms |
Wolnir's Crown is a Helm in Dark Souls 3. It is the only armor item available after defeating High Lord Wolnir.
Crown of Wolnir, the Carthus conqueror.
Once upon a time, such things were bequeathed judiciously to each of the rightful lords, until Wolnir brought them to their knees, and ground their crowns to dust. Then the crowns became one, and Wolnir, the one High Lord.
Location/Where to Find
- Buy from Shrine Handmaid in Firelink Shrine for 15000 souls after defeating High Lord Wolnir
Notes and Tips
- Contrary to what most players may think when they first see it, the crown does nothing out of the ordinary.

Pairs well with the Brass Armor in the Darkmoon Tomb, I used it on a "Hollow King" character and it fit.

I’m a sucker for an awesome hat, I can sacrifice a bit of head armor so that I can rock the crown. Looks great with Dragonslayer Set

So this could be just a random glitch however if yoy wear the crown going into the pontiff fought it seems to start at half health. It's happened to me twice once one new game 3 and once on new game 4, haven't made it to new game 5 to test theory again.

Is it just me.. or does this crown look oddly familiar to the crown/helmet that the Pardoners wear in Dark souls, and Dark souls 2? does a little to me.. surely just a random thing, like most stuff in these games though!

Holy Remains : "Sinister vessel made from the skull of a noble king. Placed on the altar within the catacombs, but its origins are unclear. An ominous air emits from the chalice, gripping the hearts of those who peer at it as if determined to drag them to the world of the dead."Link, as a proof, with all the rest of the unused content : [ http://darksouls3.wikidot.com/unused-content ]

So...looks to me like Wolnir's Crown, combined with the Goblet for his boss fight, turn into all 4 crowns from Dark Souls 2. The Ivory King's crown got bent into the top bit, the Sunken King's crown got turned into the first layer of gems, Vendrick's crown is the lower layer....and the Goblet if you look VERY closely appears to be the Iron King's crown in reverse. Well how did this person, Wolnir, get their hands on the crowns? Did they kill the Protag from Dark Souls 2? Probably not, Dark Souls 2 protag was a badass. So remember what Vendrick said:Inherit fire and harness the dark.Such is the calling of a true leader. One day fire will fade and dark will become a curse.Men will be free from death; left to wander eternally.Dark will again be ours and in our true shapeWe can bury the false legends of yore.…only is this our only choice?Seek strength. The rest will follow. If one takes the interpretations of this, it's possible that Vendrick's lines could mean for one to take the crowns, seek strength, conquer, and harness darkness to become a true leader, and shed the shape of humans to take on a true shape. Is it possible that Wolnir found this true shape in the Abyss to be a giant skeleton, free from death in the safety of the abyss? After obtaining the crowns, you, the protagonist from Dark Souls 2, continue to conquer more lands and attempt to build a kingdom of greatness until it all crumbles to dust and bone around you? We know that the Protagonist from Dark Souls 2 had a home that they came from, is it possible that this home was Carthus, that you return to as a hero and conqueror, after you slay Aldia?

They could've done something cool with this, but no. It's just boring :V

Fashion souls is excellent wearing this with any set of armor having a cape. I use this with the undead legion armor, and elite knight leggings and gloves to round it out. Works excellently for most defenses, looks great, and is of intermediate weight.

Could this crown be a reference to the assorted crowns from DS2? I always thought that those four crowns were from the Four Kings boss from DS1, but who knows.
So can it be assumed this is made of the crowns from dark souls 2? hence why wolnir is so old/big/strong
