Yorshka's Spear is a Spear in Dark Souls 3.
This treasure, gifted to the Yorshka Church, is enchanted with a soporific spell, and was surreptitiously worshiped by Irithyll slaves.
As a weapon, it is part spear and part hammer, the former allowing thrusting, and the latter allowing strikes.
Skill: Pacify
With a prayer and an offering of this spear, temporarily wear down enemy FP with each strike.
Notes and Tips:
- Cannot be Infused or Buffed.
- Reinforced with Twinkling Titanite.
- The light attacks are thrust attacks whereas the strong attacks are strike attacks using the spear's crossguard. Has horizontal slashes for its strong attacks. Among spear class weapons, this animation is shared only with the Partizan and the Ringed Knight Spear.
- Faith scaling was added in patch 1.13.
- Drains 14 FP on hit at +5
Location/Where to Find
- Located in a chest in a dark room not far from the Church of Yorshka bonfire in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. The room has lots of invisible and glowing eye enemies. The chest is up the ladder and across some beams and then you drop down to it. (Video)

The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.

Not the best weapon in the game by a wide margin. But great for roleplaying as someone serving under Yorshka.

This is an inferior spear except in one situation. Playing against a regen-healing spear of the church. Even tagging their iframes will reduce their fp and shorten the fight. However, if you're playing against the kind of jerk who runs away and regents health the whole fight you're betting off pulling the plug and blocking them.
So, just use this beautiful weapon for its cool purple auora.
- Anonymous
It leans way too hard on the FP gimmick, but being an unbuffable faith weapon is its real killer imo. You're just better off with every basic, obvious alternative you could imagine.
- Anonymous
On max level this thing has 519 AR, being the highest damaging pure-physical spear. Although the gratlance has more but is considered a pike :P
- Anonymous
Why? The weapon art should've worked like a mini vow of silence and temporarily stops the enemy from casting since ashen estus is a thing and you most of the time, you'll kill the enemy faster than you'll drain all of their fp
- Anonymous
This weapon is so damn tragic. It can’t be infused, so there goes more build potential. It’s weapon art is laughable, and it’s damage is terrible if you don’t put 40+ into str, dex, and faith. This weapon really had the potential to be really good, and already looks cool, but it just falls flat.
Can we take a moment to appreciate that a SPEAR has better blocking stats than some shields? Mostly small shields, but still, it's a spear!
- Anonymous
This weapon is good for one niche, on a 40 strength 40 dexterity 40 faith build this weapon does more damage than a blessed Partizan, but you lose passive health regen and an actually useful weapon art.

For a weapon worshipped by slaves, it sure doesn't live up to such praise.
If it would've gotten higher faith scaling and strength scaling it would've been seriously awesome. Also, the weapon art is terrible. Who in their right mind decided it would drain FP from the enemy, but then not transfer that FP to the wielder?
- Anonymous
Shame such a badass looking weapon has such low ar and a bad weapon art
- Anonymous
Well It has entertaining value if you're trying bizarre builds or cosplays as a Spear of the Church :3
- Anonymous
This spear should cause silence on attack after the wa buff instead of damaging fp.

It would be decent if it got more AR. Partizan moveset is partizan moveset.
- Anonymous
although a bit dramatic(this is dark souls) theres a similar real life weapon known as the goedendag which was a spear and club hybrid

The FP drain isn't useful. At all, sadly. Maybe acting as a spellblock for a few seconds after a hit would be better, since it's not a very fast weapon? Otherwise it does the 2 best physical type dmg types, but so does gael's sword. By the shape of the weapon, critical hits must hurt a LOT, though
- Anonymous
I dont think theres a single person who uses this unironically tbh
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
It could make a good counter to certain builds considering the FP drain
- Anonymous
One of the best weapons able to trade well with shield pokes. Why? Shield pokes are influenced by the poking weapons block attributes, not the shield's. Yorshka is the best poking weapon against an elemental attack in this respect.
- Anonymous
Compare to Partizan since they share the same moveset. Exactly same attack ranges on R1s and R2s, same weight, very small stamina usage difference. Things to consider: Strike vs Standard on R2s: Using infusions + Rings to manipulate the ARs to be similar (320 vs 317 AR in YK's favor), I did 311 vs 220 on a single R2 on a Gargoyle. With the speed of rolling R2s on these weapons, this is something to consider when comparing the damage rating for your build - most armor sets and enemies will have a higher standard defense when compared to strike, even if it's not as extreme as the Gargoyle example. WA: Partizan has a strong one which sweeps and can combo. YS doesn't. With that said, I believe the FP drainage is higher than what is stated on this page - it got buffed *twice* and sources state it takes away 21 FP now. I cannot test this myself, need confirmation. Buffing: YS can't be buffed. This may or may not be relevant to you.

This should have been a halberd with strike damage and r2 pokes. And maybe a darkmoon blade self buff.
- Anonymous
the range is lackluster and the weapon art honestly isnt that great, but the thrust and strike damage on the same weapon is pretty nice, makes it good in pve and mixes people up in pvp with those r2's
- Anonymous
Fun Fact: apparently this spear has the highest AR of all the spears when you're at max level

What is the most efficient PVP build for this? The scaling is somewhat odd for this weapon.

I never used this thing before, and tried it today. Was expecting it would be really bad weapon and that I'll die a lot. It has something like 100 less AR than winged spear with something same stat investment. And AR is one of the most important things for spears - because you need to outtrade oponent if you using leo-ring and more important - end your enemy as fast as you can - so he don't get his lucky parry or backstab and oneshot you. But... My wining rate was like 9/10, pretty often with flawless wins. Yorshka's spear really surpised, how good it can be - I'm not joking. Good things about it compare to winged spear - horisontal swings, that helps a lot, when your oponent just try to backstab you because poke's terrible tracking. Also this spear longer than it looks and can catch people trying outspace it. (and yes - using it a lot of fashion. WA useless but looks cool and has interresting sound on hits) Had a lot of fun using - just give it a try
Ideas for this weapon...
Increase the base damage to something along the lines of 110/128/146/164/182/200? A bit of straight-up damage wouldn't hurt, I don't think, and if the table's any indication its progression is way out of whack anyhow.
Weapon Art: In a similar vein, why not add a minor Darkmoon effect to Pacify? Not much, maybe: something like 20/22/24/26/28/30 (C Faith scaling) seems realistic- just a bit of extra shave damage for turtles, and appropriate lore-wise given that it is a weapon worshiped as a relic of the captain of the Blades of the Darkmoon. Maybe also make it so that it gives back a small fraction of the base FP per hit back when used in PvE (1-3) so that it has some utility in that regard, and/or make the light it provides sufficient to illuminate the nearby area as a light source? The room you get it in would be pretty ideal for its use, if all of this was the case.
Perhaps grant it +10% phys./mag./dark absorbtion and +10-15 Stability, to make it a decent magic/dark blocking shield in a pinch? That'd be a neat niche if nothing else.
This is pretty modest, I'd like to think. Given that it's unlikely that this, a weapon clearly intended for late-game if the lower base damage and high scaling is indicative at all, would break 500 AR at 40 Str/40 Dex/40 Fth without the hypothetical 30-50 AR buff from the WA for the whole less than a minute that it lasts... compare that to the sorts of ARs I've seen on a Lightning Blade-buffed Sunlight Straight Sword/Saint's Bident? ...yeah... it'd be nice if this weapon had a reason to be used. As of now, I don't see much beyond the style.

I love how this weapon got the worst buff from the patches and ringed knight ultra greats got buffed, nerfed, then buffed again. Thanks a lot fromsoft.

They need to change this weapons scaling to D/D/-/B and lower it's strength requirement to 14.
At min stats +60 faith it should be doing ~390 AR, higher than that of the Saints Bident, but unbuffable as a compromise.
Then this weapon would finally see some use.
- Anonymous
I have a high level 99 faith build (24 str/60 dex) I made for experimental purposes.
Anyways, I have this spear at +4
And at +4 it is getting a C scaling in STR, C in DEX and C in FAITH. So the above mentioned upgrade table is wrong for the +4 stats. At +5 the blacksmith shows that it remains a C across the board.
and the AR 1h is 374, and 402 2h
at +5 the AR 1h is 430, and 463 2h
- Anonymous
I don't currently have the materials to upgrade it, but its basic version now has D/D/-/D scaling.
- Anonymous
https://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Patches
As of regulation 1.33, this is finally getting a faith scaling
Praise the sun T-T
- Anonymous
Such a cool weapon but with its scaling its practically useless.
- Anonymous
at +5 it now has a B scaling in Dex, Why not strength from? :@
- Anonymous
I just picked this up and it has a C scaling in faith now it seems
- Anonymous
The base damage really needs a buff, or the scaling needs to be improved. Raising the +5 base damage to about 200, or having more scaling, perhaps even physical faith scaling, would help massively. Also, since Pacify only drains 6-11 FP per hit, lasting 45 seconds, it could be fairly improved by changing it to be an AoE passive fp drain of 5 FP a second to hostiles within the spears reach, whilst reducing its duration to 30 seconds maybe.

What is the sense of this weapon that with a quality 40/40 it just has 345 AR, the weapon art is so slow that you could use it only at the beginning of the duel and you remove so little FP that before the enemy caster is without FP he is dead cause you killed him after poking so much
Does anyone know if partial strikes during a roll while using the weapon art will still drain FP?
By partial strikes, I mean like instances when no damage is inflicted, but things like bleed will still activate and increase.
- Anonymous
40/40 dual wield gives an astounding 355 ARamazing pokes and strikes that have no hyperarmor at allweapon ark drains basically nothing, but you'll never know this, because its next to impossible to hit someone with this, as this weapon also has no range.BUT ***** WHY DOES IT LOOK SO COOLspecially the WA
- Anonymous
The base damage needs buffed, and it NEEDS faith scaling. You find it next to a church, for God's sake! Yorshka's church!

o ya a wp art where you use fp...TO GET THE FP BACK YOU JUST USED

How much? How does it work? Is it a set number or a percentage? I wanna know if it's viable against weapon skill spammers and spellcasters.
- Anonymous
Like, for reals. I picked this up to try it out all hype, and then realised I couldn't even break the 300 AR barrier with a 40/40 quality build. Why did FROM Soft decide to make all the cool-looking weapons so worthless?
- Anonymous
I used this weapon for a short time before reverting to the dragonslayer spear. Nice moveset, but very low damage. Maybe useful for its L2 buff in PvP but I found it lasted for a very short duration. Not tested with lingering dragoncrest. Pass IMO.
- Anonymous
looks cool as hell with a great moveset so id like to use it but that base damage with that scaling and the faith requirement do not look promising. i was also gonna use lothrics sword as a backup but apparently thats pretty *****e too
- Anonymous
So it's the weapon the Lucerne always should have been? A hammer and a spear? Only it doesn't look as nice unfortunately...
I'm very curious about this weapon. No one seems to have tried it to great degree, including myself. It has the Partisan moveset, which is imo excellent, but I wonder how much of a difference its unique strike/pierce property makes. Its ability to damage FP could be quite effective against other players Id imagine, assuming the effect is notable.

Maybe already answered, but does the FP drain affect iFramed hits in PvP? i.e. when the enemy rolls through your attack but still confirms a hit sound/effect (like with bleed/frost/pontiff eye rings)?
