Lothric Knight Long Spear is a Pike in Dark Souls 3.



Long spear wielded by the proud Lothric Knights. Designed for long-range thrusting.  
Lothric spear knights are known for their steadfastness, and this spear boosts the poise of its wielder.

Skill: Charge  
Hold spear at waist and charge at foe. Use strong attack while charging to extend the length of the charge

Notes and Tips:

  • Can be Infused and Buffed.
  • Reinforced with Titanite.
  • Increases Poise by 15 while equipped.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit

        Not a spear but a pike. Pikes have a slow moveset one-handed. Not a good weapon with shield other than suggested by enemies you get it from.

              Many people say Partizan is better than Lothric Spear but I find this spear suits me well. Long reach attack, Long reach jump attack. Super funny running attack. The running one works well with terrains, I have pushed many guys off the cliff. Although its easy to be parried but still very fun to play.

                Was playing a pyromancer and this dropped from the very first knight wielding the spear near the high wall of lothric. Of course when I want one with a herald build the RNG hates me.

                  This is especially good in group pvp, as you can reliable hit L2 from behind other friendly players. People rarely manage to dodge them if they're busy dodging someone else. Lots of uses during invasions, while invading yourself + npc enemies, Spear of the Church fights and brawls. Not so much in 1v1 unless you can manage to charge just enough to get them to roll.

                    i was thinking...
                    What if we give this weapon the R2 of the Slashing Spears like Dark Souls 2?
                    Sweep and Thrust, so not only has a varied moveset, but also one pretty useful one-handed R2 that could mess up Parrying timing even more.
                    except the Two-Handed R2 tho, the Tracking is too good to change it, maybe a Slashing move after the Strong poke?

                      The R2 has seemingly limitless tracking. What I mean by this, is that most weapon attacks allow you to change your direction mid swing, in order to correct them if poorly aimed. Either they messed up a value or intentionally made one of the most reliable r2s for rollcatching in this weapon. From the moment you start it to the moment the attack is fully out, you can do a full 360⁰ spin, and a little more. You can spin the entire move around and still hit someone in front of you. If that's not stylish I don't know what is. This is quickly becoming my favorite weapon.

                          I wish it had the Stance of the Lothric Knights when they're two-handing the Spear as a weapon art instead of the simple Charge we got now.
                          come to think about it, most Spears and Pikes are really underwhelming as weapons in this game, right?
                          though this is probably one of the better Spears in the game, kinda wish it had a B/B in the Refined Infusion.

                            Cool trick with this weapon in pvp is to fight two handed until you see them fish for a parry, then switch to the slower one handed attacks and they'll parry too early most times. Completely ****s up their rhythm

                              and here we have, the "lothric turtle". this variation of the "lothric knight" are quiet common here in this environment, spending their days wallowed over corpses, or patrolling the crumbling and withered courtyards and stations, whenever encountered, the will hide behind their protective greatshield waiting for the enemy to attack, but in these times, predators have figured out how to counter their defenses, a kick, because of this, they will be endangered, very soon, this has been, "animal dark souls" please tune in, for next episode (and i comment here instead of the lothric knight page because)

                                Please correct me if this has changed and im just stupid. But to my knowledge the +15 poise doesnt work. Same a s thw wolf ring and poise in general. Yes we can see the poise stat in the character screen, but you could have smough set and still be fliched by one dagger hit. Thats because poise is "turned off" so to speak. So the secondary ability of this weapon is useless. Again, please correct me if im wrong, something may have changed and i just never knew this is just what i know

                                • Why does this grant you poise? It's a spear. It has no hyperarmor. Yes, I know you can offhand it to give your greatsword/ugs/greathammer more hyperarmor, but it seems like you should be able to utilize the buff it gives you without any other weapon.

                                    I'm certain that from gives these offhand-based buffs to big weapons (owcgs, warbanner, this etc) to make you look goofy with an antenna or giant hairy sword on your back while you pvp

                                      I throw on Havels, Wolf Ring, this, and then Astora GS abd I almost never get staggered unless there are multiple weapons hitting me at once or maybe something like the FUGS

                                        One of the few weapons in this game I can think of that can be useful even if you never ever actually use it on anyone. Keep it on your back with 2 handed hyper armor weapon for a literal antenna on your back picking up poise transmissions from space. Give it a blessed or simple infusion for a poise+hp/fp regen antenna. My quality build get's a lot of use out of this thing lol.

                                                Holy moly. This weapon is incredibly amazing. You just learn your spacing. Works great with leo ring. Damage is less then other popular weopons, but this little guy has finesse. Im beating every type of player from casters to ultrasword big hitters. I think about poise health the whole time and i fight with poise and spacing on my mind. Also the 15 free poise health? Yes please. Very high tier weapon. Makes the othef guy a little careful around you. You strike them when you outreach them or they are recovering stamina

                                                  In case people worry about getting parried, if you make it so they parry the tip of the blade, the time it takes to run up and crit. you will give enough time to roll out and poke again. *Tested against some invader with Dragonslayer Axe.

                                                    Has anybody tried this with a faith build? I'm wondering how the damage is. I don't need it to be great, just decent. I'm making a faith caster. So I'm thinking the poise bonis with the WA from a talisman would be great for casting.

                                                      Blessed Lothric Long Spear +9 have S scaling in faith. If I were to switch to Lightning, it would be A scaling faith. Don't know if +10 lightning is S scaling, since the chart on blessed was wrong. Holding onto my slabs for now.

                                                          All the times I used this weapon off-hand, I never got it to combo R1 into another R1.

                                                          Did they ever fix that? I never used it main hand, is it the same case there? No two-hit stun seems a little excessive for a weapon that really isn't OP.

                                                            With the new patch, does this spear still give 10 poise? I heard that Wolf Ring got nerfed, so I was wondering if this got it's poise buff nerfed too. Might be really good on a str build as an offhand.

                                                              This pike has exceptional range and great damage for zoning people out. I recommend using it two handed because it's one handed attacks are very slow. It requires some skill to duel with. You need good timing and you NEED to know your range. With the Leo ring, red tearstone ring, any buff and morion blade you can deal a massive amount of damage when dueling. I wish it's skill was a little better. Should have something similar to perseverance where you anchor the hilt in the ground as a show of pride. Greatly increases poise but prevents sprinting for 20ish seconds. Doesn't exactly make sense to charge with a pike...

                                                                Since it's actually a Pike class weapon, of which there are only 2 of (and this is by far the SUPERIOR pike), it's absurdly slow when one-handed. Two-handing it, however, not only makes the R1 godly fast, but also makes the R2 godly fast as well, making it the best option for safe single pokes! Every single tap with this thing STINGS since it has over 400 AR when Refined at just 32/40 Str/Dex to boot.Because its 1H moveset is sluggish and punishable, you want to completely forego a shield and instead use it as the biggest, fattest Leo Ring-abusing prod in the game. It's longer than the Pike itself (by about a centimeter but still lmao) and certainly hits harder. Keep a sidearm with you like the Corvian Greatknife or a Shotel of some kind to more easily get around shields and change up annoying spear vs. spear mirror matches. Just watch out for parries; the least frustrating way to deal with a spear/pike player is to parry when you see the windup, so you'll see it happen a surprising amount of times. Charge R2 to mess them up and fake a dash/rolling attack so you can run behind their laggy failed parry for a backstab.Have fun and remember to git gud!

                                                                    Spent hours farming for this in my 2nd character (str/fth build) so I can use it as my beginning weapon. Eventually had to give up and wait until Greirat go to scavenge Irithyll. Just now, on my 3rd character (int build) I got it off the first spear knight you meet in the high wall. Why FROM. Why do you give this to my bloody mage, but not to my knight.

Poise is said (by FROMsoftware in an interview to Kotaku http://kotaku.com/from-software-says-dark-souls-3s-seemingly-useless-pois-1776079738) to be activated only after using the weapon art that says "increase poise", like the Perseverance of https://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Vordt's+Great+Hammer.This spear doesn't have that kind of weapon art.This whole poise situation is full of *****, rant over.

                                                                        After testing on shield enemies, non-shield enemies, and inanimate objects, the spear only deflects if you're standing too close to whatever you are attempting to hit, if you're far away it doesn't get deflected, just try positioning yourselves a little more precisely.

                                                                          If you get this weapon and waste shards on it get ready to have your spear deflected off of ANY enemy with a shield!Just get ready to poke a hollow with a cracked round shield and have your spear bounce off leaving you vulnerable and looking like a real fool.Are all the other spears this way as well?                                                                                   he negatively scales with your equipped Poise, the General formula seems to be this: 10- 0,1/ Poise Point for example: if you equip this spear with 0 Poise he grants 10 Poise, if you equip greirats hat(1poise) spear will raise poise by 9,9 Points (10- 0,1) if you now equip yhorms shield and nothing else he grants + 5,5 Points to Poise (10-4,5) (tested with +0 both)

                                                                                    Increased my poise from 36.27 to 42.65. (Wolf Ring +1) I can't tell if it's a multiplicative or additive bonus. That's a difference of 17.5% multiplicative, or 6.38 poise units additive. I think multiplicative makes more sense, since 17.5% is a relatively standard looking number. It's a pretty massive bonus. Even with 10 faith my dragonslayer spear does more damage because its faith scaling is pretty minuscule in this game. It also attacks faster due to having the spear moveset, while the lothric spear has the pike moveset. BUT the poise bonus is pretty serious business, assuming it's multiplicative it should make a pretty big difference for heavy armor builds, especially if you use the wolf ring. You can even get the bonus with the spear in your left hand, and a heavy weapon in your right hand. I tried this out with a black knight greataxe in my right hand, and when trading with an UGS user, I could stun him but he couldn't stun me. So you can probably do some pretty creative things with this weapon.As a right hand weapon it's actually pretty good, especially due to the sprint attacks. I make use of the sprint/guard glitch thing. I'm not even sure it's a glitch, maybe just an ordinary mechanic. Anyway you hold L1 with a shield in your left hand, or 2 handing a weapon, such that you're guarding while sprinting. Sprint a little ways, keep holding circle & L1, but stop moving forward with the thumbstick. So you'll still be holding block, you'll still be holding the sprint button, but you won't be moving. Then, wait as long as you want and hit R1 or R2. If you hit R1 you'll do a sprinting attack from a stationary position. If you hit R2 you'll do a jumping attack from a stationary position. This is pretty useful for certain weapons, and this spear is one of them. There is almost zero charge up time for the sprint attack. The weakness is that when you sprint at someone, you telegraph the lance sprint attack. So this guard sprint glitch completely eliminates that one weakness. You can just stand there, with your shield up, waiting for the right time, then hit R1 and just instantly start charging at your opponent. Try it out yourself. Reminds me of lances from DS2, there were some pretty ridiculous lance strategies available to people who were willing to learn difficult mechanisms.

                                                                                        This was my main weapon through my first playthrough. Refined +10 may only have C scaling on STR/DEX but my god does it destroy things with counters. Staggers a decent amount too. The RANGE!!!

                                                                                            Bonus poise is useless, everything that can hit you will stagger you in this game no matter what your poise is, so the poise bonus is irrelevant. But otherwise, it's a good spear, albeit a bit slow when one-handed, but the range can make up for that. Definitely encourages passive play though...
