Ringed Knight Spear is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3. It was added with The Ringed City DLC.

Black spear wielded by the Ringed Knights.
The arms of early men were forged in the Abyss, and betray a smidgen of life.

For this reason the gods cast a seal of fire upon these spears, and those who possessed them.

Thrust the timeworn spear and watch it restore its ancient brilliance and reignite a short-lived flame, whose dull aftermath will carry on.

Beaaaastly spear, that's a pike done right, so many combos and such a variety in the moveset for a spear. Trade off is the massive stamina consumption but with the right gear that can be offset

going off my comment below, i forgot to mention that the glitcher can combo the spear's jump weaponart into the greatlance weapon art for insane damage. i got 1 shot by this and i had tears of denial too. i think someone may have gundyr'd me with the ringed knight spear once as well. sure it may have looked cool but its not fun dying like this, and also i cant imagine how cheating can be fun for anyone. glitchers are ruining this game (this includes estus cancellers too)

you haven't played ds3 long enough until you've been greatlance weapon-arted by a ringed knight spear. yes you read that right.

Here it is, the best Pike in Dark Souls 3! Gross, gross weapon. Love using this weapon for mid-level PVP. The innate buff on the Weapon Skill is so strong and the combo and fire trail it leaves catches so many people. It even does a little bit of fire damage for PVE and since half of the game is weak and staggered by fire, it trivializes that part as well. Honestly, they may have made this weapon too good for the game since it truly does outclass most other spears. Love it!

Things I found out in pvp:
-WA second R2 works wonders against tears
-R2s are great for catching players of guard and forcing them close for pokes, but easily parried

God I love this weapons. Its one of the only spears (I know it's a pike shut up) I can use without being bored to sleep. Partizan too.

Such a trash weapon, all you edgelords that use this are worse than the dung pies I carry. You guys think you’re so cool and edgy wielding this weapon but you just end up getting rammed so hard you start to cry for mommy. But there is always the pkcs the best weapon in the game.

                  • Anonymous

Tip: the Weapon Art excels at roll catching, just predict a roll and trigger the WA to get a nice hit on the enemy.
probably the best spear in the game imo.

the fire trail in the third part of the wa helped me to kill so many miracle builds, it's so funny like they run away from the wa to heal but that fire has more range and gives way more damage than it should

                      • Anonymous

Having the WA change it's moveset is actually a really neat mechanic and something I wish more weapons had. It makes fighting with this feel really fluid and adaptable.

I normally loathe spears and pikes (I happen to LIKE being able to SWING my weapon horizontally without having to two-hand the stupid thing), but this one is something I like, even when compared to the other Ringed Knight weapons. Why? The weapon art on this thing is actually GOOD, not to mention that I don't need a strength stat of 40 to use this or have to alternate between light and heavy attacks to wreak havoc with it, and that's without going into detail over how it deals increased damage even after you're done casting the weapon art.

                          • Anonymous

I like how this weapon looks, but I don't like how it scales. IMO it would be nice for it to be D in str and C in dex. As in contrast the ringed knight sword should stay C str and D dex

How come this weapon is popular with highwall twinks? I thought it was more quality build based, and the LKLS is an early weapon i have great success with in low-sl pvp. Is it because new players won't recognize it? Because new players only really appear when the game's in a steam sale lol

Nice thing about the first part of the WA is you can turn it on a dime if you see your opponent is ready to parry it, and then follow up with the R2 since you can dead-angle it and it often catches them off guard.

                                • If you like the Partizan you may really enjoy it. R1 is poke, R2 swipes from side to side and has a larger reach with WA buff. WA must be used tactically in PVE, easy to Parry. I normally use WA to reorient myself and to catch people off gaurd. L2, R2, R2 results in a interesting combo; WA lunge, swipe and poke with linear fire traveling forward abit. That being said I prefer it for PVE.

Jesus ive been using this for quite a while and it seems everything bigger than a straight sword can hyperarmor through the WA, and anything thats like a greatsword can instantly knock you out of the WA

                                    • Anonymous

Tips on using the weapon: While buffed, the range on all of these attacks are extended: R2s, Jumping attacks, Rolling attacks, and Running attacks. The WA combos into one more hit of the WA, meaning if you hit the first, you will hit the second, but not the third. If you miss the first and hit the second, then you will be able to hit with the third. {How to counter parry kings:} Use WA, and unlock your character and move in a different direction at the last moment, stabbing the ground a good distance away. Then re-lock, and hit them with the remaining two phases of the WA. Keep in mind that the last hit of the weaponart causes fire to erupt from the ground, dealing roughly double the damage of all the other hits.

People are saying that this weapon sucks because it is easily parriable. Yes that is true. It weapon arT is fairly easy to parry. But honestly that is a good thing. It balances the weapon. Its WA does insane damage and if it were not parriable then it would be too over powered. Its damage comes at a risk. You have to be careful with the WA. It has an upside and a downside like everyone weapon should in the game. So no its not crappy or overpowered it is faurly balanced.

Nice. Another Dlc weapon that makes every other spear useless. Either you parry or you lose against this spear.

                                          • Anonymous

That feel when you use WA more than standard attack.
Ringed Knight weapons are the best weapons imo , M2 hack and slash you are welcome

                                            • Anonymous

For any considering to use this spear, do so because it is (imo) the best out of the spears and pikes, damage especially when buffed by the WA is amazing split damage or not and the weapon art itself absolutely roasts your opponents

                                              • Anonymous

THe WA is really good against parry spammers. I stunlocked this one guy through the entirety of the WA combo because he kept trying to parry the initial jump.

                                                • I really like this weapon. I'm not usually a spear user but I can't put this one down, the moveset is great. Its really not "broken" or over powered though, it's a good moveset. Compared to alot of the dlc's other weapons it's kind of balanced.

                                                  • Anonymous

Just gonna put it out there i invaded and hit a medium armored host with the full weapon art... it did like 1400 damage XD gotta love it

                                                    • Anonymous

As a fan of polearms of all kinds, this thing is just beautiful. Thank Gwyn for granting us another spear like Partizan that isn't just poke all day every day ammai right?

                                                      fanatic ahead,
                                                      be wary of fire.

Basics first, on your usual 40/40 STR/DEX quality build the spear has a 1H AR of 415 and 430 in 2H. While a bit of that is Fire it feels plenty considering how flexible the weapon is. Also it IS classified as a "Pike" (easy to tell too from the slower 1H R1s when compared to spears like Partizan) and is notably of similar length as Lothric War Banner.

                                                      Some of its good points
1: Unique, three-phased weapon art that simultaneously buffs the weapon, bringing the previously mentioned AR values to 505 and 520 respectively. That is STRONG, even if its split-damage. However the buff does make your attacks with notable flame to them cost more stamina so do pay mind to that.

2: Combo ability, this thing has it.
                                                      R2 > R1, R2 > R2.
Even the weapon art consistently combos two of its potential three attacks, the third flamewave thrust will not hit unless your opponent happens to panic and ***** up. And if they do? Bye bye HP, was nice knowing you. It does seem like if you miss the initial plunge but hit with the spin-swipe, the third part WILL combo but I haven't 100% confirmed that with a dummy friend.

3: About the weapon art, again... The aftermath fire buff also alters the moveset, changing both of the jump attacks and the 2H rolling attack into the Halberd class swipes instead. Those jumping swipes with Pike class range to them? Don't know about anyone else, but I looooovvve them.

The only negative this weapon has is that its damage buff simultaneously raises your stamina costs, but the positives FAR outweigh the singular negative. You could say that the weapon is.... PRETTY HOT. Eyyyyyyyy.

                                                      • Anonymous

Imagine if this had a third R2 after the pillar of fire one that makes the aoe explosion like the knights wielding it.

                                                        • Anonymous

cool weapon art but is it really better than gargoyle flame spear? gargoyle flame spear still seems stronger and has longer reach also faster when using it one handed

                                                          • Anonymous

I checked through all the spears in my inventory to see if i had this but i couldn't find it. Turns out I did have it, just didn't realize that its classified as a pike, not a spear. I suppose that could be reason enough to edit the label on this page?

                                                            • Anonymous

i want multiple copies of this weapon T_T wish i could farm them off of spear wielding ringed knights, getting one off a corpse just doesn't cut it, this weapon looks awesome and plays awesome

                                                              • Anonymous

Just fought against this in PvP. It could trade with my Dragonslayer Greataxe. We were both dead after each doing 3 hits.

I like that spears finally got a good one. Range seems really strong though. But then again- it's a spear, it should have reach.

                                                                • Anonymous

I get off the WA R2 R2 almost every time and they are at a quarter health left every time. I pair it with demons scar for more flame fashion and i use sacred flame for turtles. So far 2 grabs of the three. Flame fan for extra fire theme

                                                                  • Anonymous

This weapon is incredibly fun to play with, and it looks gorgeous to boot. A+, would strong attack again.
                                                                    And again.
                                                                    And again.

                                                                    • Anonymous

Fun fact: Weapon Art uses the same move that the Soul of Cinder uses when spinning with his Spear/Greatlance Transformation.

                                                                      • Anonymous

PvP tip if anyone is struggling, the third strike from this weapons weapon art (that causes the pillar of fire on the ground) is really easy to parry. If you dodge the first two hits and they try the third, just parry as if its a dragonslayer spear weapon art and you'll land it 80% of the time given you have enough poise.

                                                                        • Anonymous

Can the ringed knight weapons be infused? Even with their innate fire damage they seem to be geared more for strength/dex builds

                                                                          • Anonymous
