Zweihander is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3. 



Ultra greatsword with a large, long blade. Wielded with two hands, yet still requiring great strength due to its weight. 

Execute powerful attacks that take advantage of its weight, or utilize its sharp blade in thrust attacks.

Skill: Stomp
Use one’s weight to lunge forward with a low stance and increased poise, and follow with strong attack for an upward slash.

 

Notes and Tips:

  • Reinforced using Titanite.
  • Can be Infused and Buffed.
  • Base damage was increased by 5 in 1.04
  • Can easily out-poise and interrupt Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords by using WA into R2.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

              I'm having so much fun with my Refined Zweihander + Lightning Blade on a quality/faith build. Gets nearly 900 AR with 40 faith and Yorshka's Chime. People don't expect the sheer damage output or that you can rollcatch so effectively. It has nearly replaced the Sharp Astora Greatsword in my heart.

                Because of the Zweihander's very low stat requirements (DEX specifically, 19/11 1H, 13/11 2H), it makes for a fairly decent twink weapon.

                Pretty much every low SL player uses a light weapon such as a straight sword, hammers, axe, etc. because they have low stat requirements, are quick, and do not use a lot of stamina. That and those are the easiest to access early on. But those light weapons do not have hyper armor (except for 2H hammer, rather weak hyper armor though). Because of this, greatswords and ultra greatswords can abuse their lack of hyper armor, poise through attacks, and stunlock them.

                All you need to do this is have 13 STR and 11 DEX, a raw gem, as well as enough titanite to upgrade to +1 (more if you plan to invade past High Wall).

                We will stay at 13/11 because that is the bare minimum to two hand. Two handing greatswords, and ultra greatswords is argably better than one handing, because it gives more damage, less stats are required than listed (in terms of strength), and gives more hyper armor.

                Scaling is not that significant until a more significant investment has been made, so we might as well go with raw damage. Plus you could use those other points for vigor or vitality.

                A raw gem instead of other non-scaling gems (like deep or fire) because of split damage (better to have just one type of damage, physical). The more types of damage, the more defenses to punch through, and the more AR that is lost.

                The classes can two hand the Zweihander at these levels (after investing the required amount of strength and dexterity if applicable):
                Knight: 9
                Mercenary: 11
                Warrior: 9
                Herald: 10
                Thief: 9
                Assassin: 13
                Sorcerer: 12
                Pyromancer: 11
                Cleric: 11
                Deprived: 5

                It doesn't quite create as much damage as the Dark Hand or Dragonslayer's Axe when it comes to twinking, but the Zweihander is easier to get than the Dragonslayer's Axe, costs less than the Dark Hand, and most importantly, has hyper armor.

                I mostly thought of this twink build because overleveled phantoms annoy the***** out of me with their ultra greatswords and curved greatswords, and make low SL invasions hard without the Dark Hand or Dragonslayer's Axe, because the heavy weapons have hyper armor. It's very ironic if you think about it.

                          There's an inconsistency here: the raw +10 AR in the max upgrade tab (408) does not match the same raw +10 AR in the raw infusion tab (362). And not just that, other specific upgrade tabs also deviate in +10 AR. What is the truth?
