Awakening is a Skill in Dark Souls 3.
Weapons That Have Awakening
Notes & Information
- Inflicts between 300 and 500 damage (depending on your max health) and increases Miracle damage by 25% for ~2 Minutes. It counts as a self buff, so you can put away the weapon and keep the buff. Does not affect weapon buffs or heals.
- You can roll out of Awakening after one self-inflicted hit. The Skill also has a moderate amount of poise.
Useful note: using this weapon art will NOT override Tears of Denial, and it also doesn't disappear upon resting on a bonfire. .

So, given this WA inflicts damage on the player, is it safe to say it has a hitbox for "attacking" like Bloodlust's WA does? It'd be pretty great to stagger any backstabbers looking for an easy kill if it did.

Does anyone know if rolling to avoid the second lashing still gives you the buff? Can't test it myself for quite a while and I'm curious
