Estus Shard is a Consumable in Dark Souls 3.

Estus Flask Shards

A shard soaked in Estus.

Give to the blacksmith at the shrine to increase usages of the Estus Flask.

In the old days, it was rare to see an Estus Flask far from its owner, but this shard offers hope, however shattered."

Estus Shard Usage

Estus Shard Locations

  1. High Wall of Lothric: On an anvil in the room where you get the Cell Key
  2. Undead Settlement: By the burning tree with worshipping undead. This is to the left of the Undead Settlement  bonfire, past the house
  3. Road of Sacrifices: From the Crucifixion Woods bonfire head towards the Crystal Sage. Pass under the small bridge. The shard will be on the left side of the ruins near a fire that has two Lycanthrope.
  4. Farron Keep: Go straight out from the starting bonfire. The shard is near a fallen tower guarded by slugs. (video)
  5. Cathedral of the Deep: Right outside the Cleansing Chapel bonfire where enemies are praying
  6. Smouldering Lake: On a body near a hole from the Old King's Antechamber bonfire. Look for an illusory wall in the bonfire room. (video)
  7. Irithyll Dungeon: From the bonfire, walk forward into the dungeon and turn right. Now go straight, head through the locked gate, and then drop down. Go right into the room and there should be a chest which is a mimic that contains the shard.
  8. Anor Londo: In a chest on the first floor of the large dark room with the Deacons (before the Aldrich fog wall). Enter from the double doors and hug the left wall to find it.
  9. High Wall of Lothric/Consumed King's Garden: From Dancer of the Boreal Valley bonfire, climb up ladder and go first left. Use the elevator and jump out halfway. Estus Shard is down the stairs to the right.
  10. Lothric Castle: From Grand Archives bonfire, on the top of Lothric Castle near the Winged Knights. From the ladder that takes you to the Hunter's Ring you will see an archway that leads to a lower roof/balcony.  Estus Shard will be found all the way out near the railing.
  11. Firelink Shrine: Purchase the Tower Key and get to the bridge that overlooks the Shrine. Drop down and find a window that allows you to get inside and get the shard on the rafters. (Alternatively go upstairs and outside and find the tree near the raised area with loot on it, then run up the tree and jump onto the raised area - no key needed!)

Notes

  • The Ashen Estus Flask, found in the Cemetary of Ash, will also increse the estus count.
  • All shard upgrades plus the ashen estus makes it possible to get the full amount, 15 flasks, in one playthrough.
  • Upon reinforcing with all Estus Shards you will get the Achievement "Ultimate Estus"

I found on another site for the missing 15 shard, go to grand archive, take the elevator up to the 3 gold wing knight. Circle around the roof that they land on, until you're facing top of the stair and the ladder, behind you should be an extended roof platform. that where I found my missing one. It not on the list.

Twice now I've been screwed out of shards. The shard in Road of Sacrifices and from the mimic in Irithyll Dungeon have both disappeared from my inventory. I have 10 now when I should have 12. Anyone know what might be causing it? Guess I'll see some use from those NG+ shards after all.

I actually cant get all of the estus shards because of the mimic one, I killed them all of them in the dungeon but none of them dropped it

So what do I do with them after maximizing my Estus count? I can't sell any I find in NG+, so can I just ditch them somewhere? Because they're getting to be pretty worthless baggage... Man, I miss in Bloodborne how single-use items would be replaced with Madman's Knowledge in NG+. Don't know why they didn't carry something like that over into DS3.

"throwing an undead hunter charm at the mimic in Irithyll will make it drop 10 Dragonslayer Lightning Arrows instead. Doing this will render the estus shard unnatainable. I learned this the hard way"

...There's more than one mimic chest in Irithyll, silly. It's the one past the 3 relatively human enemies with weaponry.

Found an estus shard inside of the firelink shrine.30 Jul 2016 05:20

There is one located in the upper beams towards the ceiling to the left of Pump-a-rums indoor nest. You have to unlock the tower in order to reach this place. After unlocking the tower head up the stairs to the broken bridge,Then drop down onto the rooftops and you'll see pump-a-rum's outdoor nest,Run past it and drop down onto the lower rooftops,Then look for the opening that will lead you indoors to the firelink shrine,There will be walkable beams similar to the upper part of the Cathedral of the deep,To the left of the indoor nest, a corpse will be hanging off the edge slightly and will contain an estus shard when grabbed.

Why not attach short videos that show how to get the shard from the closest bonfire, for instance? If I wanted to watch LPs, I'd search for LPs.

                          Left over Estus31 May 2016 03:52

What about left over estus shards? Is there anything you can do with them? I have 15 flasks, but I have 6 leftover estus shards. Can I do anything with these?

Whats the point of them after all 15 is acquired? Could it be possible that they may be part of the DLC for another Flask (Doubt) or can we use them as something else like breaking them for souls?

You start off with three and pick up 11 shards. I have 14 flasks at +10, bonfire intensity of 11. How do I get my 15th flask in the first playthrough?

Is there any use to extra Shards that can be obtained in subsequent playthrough or are they just trash at this point? The same question for Undead Bone Shard.

                                  Dropping Estus Shards???28 Apr 2016 03:03

I had the thought that maybe you were able to give unused estus shards to a friend and that friend could give them to a lower level so you can get 15 Estus Flasks before you even fight Vordt for the first time..
