Surprisingly useful for invaders. This ring's effect activates whenever anything dies, no matter how far away you are. Therefore you can run away and let the host kill mobs, which will heal you. You can also just use this to help you narrow down where the host is: This is basically a "host is killing things" radar, even at full health you can just hear the sound. Knowing whether the host is killing things or not helps you search for them, and if they're not killing anything they're probably at a bonfire or fogwall

What if this scaled with what type of enemy you killed? For example, killing some poor naked hollow will net you very little hp back, but killing a bulky enemy like a cathedral knight or some other big boi will get you much more hp return. I feel like if the ring worked like this it would see more use and be more useful in general.

Hello, I am collecting all the rings and for some reason when I go to the location of the ring (the +2 version), it isnt there any idea?

          • Anonymous

Anri gave it to me in the catacombs by the rope bridge when I told her about Horace (I had killed him, heheh)

Here's a better version of this ring: https://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Aldrich%27s+Ruby

Regular Aldrich's Ruby: Gives 85 HP on critical attacks
+3 Ring of the Evil Eye: Gives 37 HP on kill

If you backstab/riposte more than you kill, Aldrich's Ruby is at least 3x better for your playstyle. And if you combine both, hey. You get 122 HP per critical kill.

I don't know if I'm right but this this +3 version is so bad, it's OK with standard version, but only if you can easy kill them and don't take damage, even that Pontiff's Left Eye still more useful with 2 hands weapon, later you can have Sun Princess Ring which constantly heal (not much but save you sometime and you don't have to fight). I thought +3 version at least heal 50HP or more but 37HP is a joke, the better idea is defeated foe give back some HP depend on their maximum HP instead of flat restore.

I use to be of the mind that this ring was pointless, but after running a Dark build with it and the Pontiff's Left Eye (a Dark Knight "lifesteal" build), it does make healing trivial. Those +30 heals add up quickly. Plus, if you include a passive regen like Ethereal Oak Shield, you'll find yourself finishing areas without even touching your Estus. Is it the best ring? Hardly. But, it's a nice addition if you don't NEED the common meta rings like Ring of Favor, Havel's Ring, Chloranthy Ring, or the spellcasting ones to make your build work.

Seems to increase Estus refill a lot as well. I didnt notice it heal me while in the cathedral of the deep graveyard. But my Estus constantly refills. Even doing other areas it refills a lot faster. I only came here to see if it really heals per kill or refills per heal and was a mistake.

Sauron did nothing wrong. He helped the oppressed gaining land to live on, fought for equality of all races. Finest leader there ever was in Middle Earth. Gandolf on the other hand with this Arian-gorn....and then the "vanishing" of the orcs. Vanishing...hmmm, ofc. Gandolf? Would you know something about this "vanishing"?

Can someone please drop me this ring +0? I messed up the quest line and i don't want to go through another play through just to get it.

                        • Anonymous

It's only the slightest bit useful with low vigor (or low SL in general), but you don't really get this ring until late-game.. unless you twink. Even then, the HP restored is abysmal.

                          • Anonymous

Can help you when invading to know when enemies are killing monsters or hiding/setting ambush. You'll see the little wisps come to you when they kill a monster.

C'mon From, you could at least make the increase in health gained SOMEWHAT worth it... Would've been somewhat useful against gankers if the +1 restored 100, the +2 restored 150 and the +3 restored 200 or something like those numbers. Not too great, but as it stands there's absolutely no reason to use this. Especially considering that you get it mid-game when it's much better suited to be an early game ring that encourages new players to be more aggressive so they can push on even if they've run out of estus instead of boning out or running back to the bonfire.

My friend and I were co-oping in the cathedral part with the zombie things, but he wasnt gaining health from them, but when we killed any other enemy, it worked? is this some lore thing or what?

dropped one for my friend and it makes co op a lot more fun since i don't have to stop and heal him as often lol

I wish this game had the ring of dildos and what it does is it lets you have extra damage when using a sword to jab the enemy

Works even if you're an invader and can't fight enemies.
I noticed I get healed by dying mobs as the invadees kill them in the distance.
Also a good way to figure out their location by following the trail of "health sparkles".

Purely a PvE ring. Weak on it's own, but good when combined with the other HP restore/regen items, such as:
                                        - Arstor's Spear (on your back)
                                        - Aldrich's Ruby (for backstabs)
                                        - Sun Princess' Ring
                                        - A blessed shield +9
There's more but this is my build, and I never chug estus, even in NG+. And they said this game was supposed to be tough.

On the one hand, you don't need to get the killing blow for the heal to trigger, so if you're co-opping, you don't feel so pressured to get the final hit in on everything to get the heal like in Dark Souls 2.On the other hand, there's a 1 or 2 second cooldown on the heal triggering, so killing multiple enemies at the same time or very quickly together will only give you one heal, massively reducing the effectiveness of the ring as a form of in-combat sustain.

                                          • Anonymous

Wish it was percentage base, like 5%, 7.5%, and 10% hp back per kill. The ring is decent at low levels and with low Vig, but once you're over 27 Vig you are better off with more defensive or offensive rings.

                                            • Anonymous

I did some testing on this ring. It seems to have a cooldown. I tried a few times, but here is one example. I killed an enemy and got 30 hp and instantly killed another one afterwards and got no hp. I think the cooldown is about 1-2 seconds.

                                              • Anonymous

                                                I tested, they respectively give +33 and +35 hp per kill.Tested with broadsword+10 (dex infused, 40dex), no armor, no other rings.+2 ring: 1045hp -> kill -> 1080hp+1 ring: 970hp -> kill -> 1003hp -> kill -> 1036hp+2 ring again: 1036hp -> kill -> 1071hp

                                                • A friend got this ring (NG) in the way stated above, but had spoken to Anri and killed Horace before defeating High Lord Wolnir, but I had not spoken to Anri before the boss fight, nor killed Horace (I was also NG), so I obtained the ring at the Yorksha's Chapel bonfire in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley where Anri gives you the 'quiet resolve' gesture.
