- Magic Playstyle Rings: Morne's, Sun's Firstborn, Lloyd's Sword, Lightning Clutch/whatever
- Armor: Whatever looks the most fancy and is below 70% total equipload or whatever is the lightest if you're rolling with Flynn's Ring
Build Strategy
This build has a very limited arsenal of weapons to choose from. Since I started with the Assassin, I had the Estoc right away and have never really found a better weapon for killing bosses, mobs or players.
The Raw Estoc is strong at early levels and will decimate foes with little stamina consumption.
The buffed (Magic Weapon -> Carthus Flame Arc -> Lightning Blade/Darkmoon Blade) raw Estoc is strong at all stages of the game (also NG+) and will also decimate foes with little stamina consumtion.
Your survival stats (Vigor and Endurance) can be levelled very early due to not being dependant on any stat until you get the Sunlight Blade, which will most likely only happen at around lvl 60. So you will be not only hard hitting, but also very, very, very durable.
At around lvl 90 your Faith will reach 40+, where you will finally notice that you start doing adequate damge with the Great Lightning Spear - at least once you have the rings equipped to boost miracles and lightning damage. At faithlevel 50 your Lightning Blade will add a ton of damage to the raw Estoc, so you will deal amazing damage in close quarters, and your Spear Miracle (Sunlight od Great Lightning) will pulverise stuff. That is the point where you have two viable playstyles open to you, which you can switch on the fly just by changing your rings. Wanna keep ranged in a bossfight? Not a problem! You will still deal a lot of damage. Wanna stay up close and personal in PvP/on a boss? Not a problem at all! The Spear might not be as strong, but will still deal considerable damage, and your Estoc will unleash thunderous fury upon your enemies.

For this build, I've seen the suggestion for early game that you use Carthus flame arc for buffing, but I prefer dark blade. it does more damage if you level up your talisman
So I get to spend the main part of the game using my raw estoc with no ranged combat or spells to get me out of a tough spot? No thank you. It sounds like a nice damage build at sl 120, but leveling to get there would be awful.
