This is probably referring to the two black knights guarding the entrance to Farron Keep. I avoided them at first, and ended up skipping Farron Keep entirely without knowing.
One has a great club, and the other a curved greatsword. Not the fairest fight for Lv30 unless you're really good at dodging; can probably get killed in two hits from either guy, and they tend to come together.
Easiest way to get past them is to lure them away from the stairs, then sprint past and use the ladder near the lantern on the floor. Move down a bit, and they'll fall to their death, giving you an easy 1500 souls each, and two new weapons. They don't respawn, and there's a bonfire at the bottom of the ladder.
