My advice: Buy the Buckler from Greirat, and use the Soul of the Curse Rotted Greatwood to get the Hollowslayer Greatsword and then upgrade it. The Hollowslayer does a ton of damage to them and they aren't too difficult to parry. All you need to do is hit a parry, riposte, and then hit them just as they get back up with either an R1 or charged R2, depending on health. 2 hits is all you need and parrying them is easier then dodge rolling their long, brutal combos. Plus, the Hollowslayer is great for basically the entire Cathedral of the Deep.

I didn't expect these things to be so relentless and jacked up on poise, damn. They look like regular hollows and then proceed to blitz you immediately.

Boulder Heave is great for dealing with these guys, a direct hit will knock them flat. It's just a bit tricky timing it with their approach.
- Anonymous
I farmed 65k souls out of these guys before they would even drop me their swords. I don't think "rare" is the word I'd use for it's rarity, not when I got 6 tit chunks from it
- Anonymous
Fun fact, these guys only invoke the power of ds1 if you're stunlocking them. In other words, they have counter-idiot measures. Even then, greatswords still tend to stagger them.
- Anonymous
These ****ing persistent *******s follow you all the way from when you aggro them outside to the first shortcut and even around the giant and going down the stairs to the mimic. It's ****ing unbelievable.

I feel like their prescence in the dead future of the Graves, shows that the cathedral succeeded, they got their wardens into the rgaves, no unkindled could rise.

Their blades drop some massive lore that explains the entire undead settlement and a bit about the hollow curse. It's linked to blood. Grave Wardens use their knives to bleed out the undead, because the less blood they have the harder it is to reanimate. That's why the undead settlement guys carry those sharp machetes and pots of organs, they're also trying to bleed out the undead to stop them endlessly respawning. The Ringed City is concerned with blood as well, it is about Gael's quest to find the dried up blood of the pygmies and consume it to recreate the dark soul.

I'll never understand how that fat cow swings that 600 pound slab of steel continuously with no stamina loss whatsoever. So damn realistic right? And people complain about Grave warden being unrealistic. wow.

Stop bragging about the poise. DS universe is not entirely scientific so doesn't matter whether they wear loose rags or Shiny armour. These are the only enemies that i'm afraid of and its good to have a bit of challenge.
these guys are real fun in ng++, killed me faster than Gael or midir
the thing i hate about these ****os aside from infinite poise and stamina and everything is that the first cathedral of the deep one you see has a **** ton of reanimated corpses around him and you lock onto them instead of the grave warden
what the ****

"Miyazaki sir, how can we increase challenge for players late game?"
M: *sips tea* "yeah, just make them NEVER STAGGER."
"But sir, these are rotting hollows wearing rags! And they'll have more poise than Cathedral knights?!"
M: "Did I stutter?"
- Anonymous
i dont know why this thing has so much poise despite wearing a goddamn rag

my only complaint against the Untended Graves version of these guys is that they can poise through a heavy combo DESPITE WEARING FUKING RAGS. I mean why the ***** can I stun lock the knights before Prince Lothric but not these bone bags*****ty game design.
In the concept art, this guys seem to have dark arms growing out of their backs, although they don't have them on the game. Maybe that should go on the trivia section.

Their duty is literally to prevent undead emerging from their grave. I don't know about you all, but if you ask me I think they may have missed a couple. Maybe a couple hundred. I don't think they're doing their job very well. Sure are good at killing me though!

very rare my ass, i got 3 chunks in a row from killing these guys with only 7 luck. i managed to farm over 45 chunks in over 10 minutes with these guys. literally every 2 times i kill them i pretty much get a chunk guarenteed

It should be noted that the Grave Wardens in the Untended Graves also have a fire attack. They slam their blades together to create a fire trail that comes at you. It happened to me in NG+2 and I've never seen them do that before.

working on a grave warden cosplay playthrough, does anyone have any tips on how to wear a set of rags, use curved swords and still get functional poise? :)
- Anonymous
There is no need to guide they are easy to kill and there is just 5 or 6 of the m in this game
- Anonymous
why did they have to put 2 or 3 of these guys and a ton of dogs in the untended graves
Considering the amount of reincarnated corpses in the graveyard near the cathedral, they don't do their job very well

Black Knights have very high poise. Given their sturdy and weighty armor, this makes sense.
But why the actual fuck do these guys have just as much?
- Anonymous
So I guess that they can, like the crabs, attack us when invading but we cannot attack them (!) is TOTALY not an important info here? Okay...

Hey, i want their belades, but its easier to take the the t. Chunk. Ps i use the gold coin for increase the luck.

Use Perserverance. Greirat sells the mace for cheap.
Otherwise, enjoy the Artificial Difficulty.

One of the most unfair enemies in the game.
- Infinite stamina.
- High poise in spite of wearing rags and being slim.
- A bit erratic moveset.
- Frequently surrounded by other enemies (Cathedral).
For me this enemie enter in my top list of unfair enemies of Dark Souls 3 along with Lycanthropes, big skeletons of Carthus and the ghru leapers.

The claws found in Consumed King's Garden ruins them with the special attack and keep pressing L1 when inside.
- Anonymous
They have hyper armor on some of their attacks lmao. I swear FromSoftware does not know how to make enemies anymore. Might as well give every enemy DS1 poise and an ultra and let them swing it forever like a straight sword. Oh wait, we already have enemies like that in this game. They happen to be in the same area as these enemies. LUL

These bastards can close gaps like a champ and dodge spells as smoothly as the pontiff boss himself. Couldn't get a single cast off without running miles away!
- Anonymous
These bastards can poise through a fully charged one-handed R2 from a Great Club. If that's not hyper armor, idk what is...
- Anonymous
They're girls technically right? They have skirts, and were probably cute if they were to purge the hollowing. The Warden set gives your character a nice midriff too.

"Enemy Description
Agile fighters that were tasked with disposing of any undead that emerged from the grave.
They are htree Grave Wardens found around Cathedral of the Deep and two at the Untended Graves."

"have a lot of health" i can litterally tank trough them with a +2 raw corvian greatknife in 1-2 full combos(104 stamina)...
- Anonymous
"Tasked with disposing of any undead emerging from their graves" You've missed like 50 guys lol
- Anonymous
These enemies not only cleave you, but most enemies near them. Including Hollows and Starved Hounds. They seem to be neutral to anything if it gets into their hitbox.
- Anonymous
Their attacks are telegraphed and can be avoided easily, but the double slash does crazy damage and they are fast. Luckily, their hp isn't too high either.
- Anonymous
to answer the question mark above, yes it can be rapported might want to remove the question mark

These guys are among the toughest humanoids you'll ever fight in this game. Their attacks are super fast. Be prepared to from their flurry of attacks (it's very rapid so don't even think about attacking them until their combo ends), don't shield, their combo hits many times so it'll break your shield + they have bleed build-up so blocking is never a good idea with them. Not to mention, they are quite a good poise, so they cannot be staggered easily.

Probably the first truly extremely aggressive enemy you'll fight, all they do is dodge like crazy, leap at you at high speed, and try to juggle you like a rubber ball.If you do an invasion and face a gank or multiple opponents, definitely go fight near one or more of these. They pull their weight for sure and might kill your enemies for you on their own.Conversely, if you GET invaded and have the Rapport spell handy... well, you know who to use it on.
Surprised about poise comments. Sellsword twinblade seem to stagger them. Also, it says 'often' for large shard drops, but they drop them every time for me. Not sure if it's due to luck or 'often' just means guaranteed.
